I just came back from China and people over there don't seem to be concerned about this tariffs war. Tariffs are paid by importing companies and China can live without Coca-Cola, Starbucks, Pizzahut, Nike, etc...not sure America can afford to pay double the price for daily necessities.

If this hateful nonsense continues, I will move my company out of the US, and continue to buy materials I need from China and elsewhere, even though well over half of my sales with their markups bring money and tax revenues INTO the US. That, unfortunately, means a loss of money to the US far greater than what I spend with China. That is simple capitalistic economics. I am not alone.

The US economists are too ignorant to understand that our (Germany) 19% vat is not a tariff, it is a sales tax we pay on everything, even our own products... I started to boycott US products... can't deal with unreliable partner and honestly I want the US gone from my country rather today than tomorrow. Voices like mine get louder. We do not want to get drawn in more of your conflicts and wars... you are starving - right now - 2 000 000 Palestinians and are complicit in genocide... your rules based order is overshadowed by this hypocrisy that human rights do count only when it fits the combover narrative.

My home in Toronto is multicultural. Over 10% of our population is Chinese. People keep their culture, and we are richer for it. We can enjoy the food from every region of China. Chinese culture is hard working, family oriented and proud of their heritage. I admire the Chinese culture. If these attributes have resulted in a country that is prospering then it is hard to see them as the villain here. They make products with a higher value proposition, so we outsourced our manufacturing. If we make stuff that is more innovative and higher value, we'll have balanced trade. I don't agree with their government's stance on basic human rights. But then I have an even bigger problem with USA's current approach to human rights, gun control and racism. Right now, I have no problem buying products from China. Can't say the same thing about a country that is committed to invading Canada.
