First, every one is created equal. 哈佛的精英 maybe smarter than average people but are for sure no better than average people morally. By definition, 精英 only means they are good in their profession, no more no less.
Second, because even 哈佛的精英 are human, they can't be trusted just like the average people. We need a transparent government system to keep everyone behave in line with the laws. If they don't, they will be punished by law regardless of their status.
Third, for young women specifically, they need to be aware of their environment and protect themselves.
Forth, you are overreacting to such a incidence in the way only Chinese do, simply because Chinese still don't understand the meaning of "everyone is created equal".
"我還是希望國內的孩子（還有我的孩子）“自私自利”一點好了" is a very funny statement. You completely underestimate the ability of the young people to handle siturations like this.
