Incredible number of high-rise buildings (>35 m in height or >
12 stories) built up in Shanghai - 14500 (2014 figure).
This number is bigger than the sum of all high-rise buildings in North America as a whole including the States, Canada, and Mexico. This is unbelievable and cannot be imagined that so many skyscrapers are concentrated in Shanghai alone! It is too dangerous if a war takes place and Shanghai is attacked by air-strikes. Does China have ability to protect such giant cities as Shanghai, Beijing, Tianjing, Shengzheng?
It is very wise to import the S400 system from Russia - that may warrant these urben areas will not be attacked by intruders. Aslo, China needs develop similar anti-air missile system, which is urgent now with the fast growth and expansion of China economy. Lesson of history should be learned that fortune of people is volunvable and can be taken away by intruders if there is no powerful defence capacity!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
