In my personal opinion, if the CCP was down in 1989, we would also have a prime minister who was 39 years old and a group of ministers who were from students as currently in Ukraine. We would have enjoyed democracy and been divided into at least 7 countries. Some Hong Kongese is now working very hard to make Hong Kong become another Ukraine.
