the dillima is:

1. you can not do a true research if your english is not good enough
2. once your english is good enough, you will be no more interested in Chinese things (people, society, language, etc.)
3. Chinese characters will be abondened eventually under the wave of information technology. think about such limited numbers of characters used in mass media/entertainment in China.

if, only if all the conditions allow me to pusure a research in Chinese characters, I would like to start the analysis of the brain (e.g. MRT testing) of Chinese-speaking people.
