North Korea got aid from Russia. North Korea requested help from China. Russia agreed Korea to ask support from China. All three were on one side. What response would be from other socialism countries if Russia rejected the request from China?
China had to pay Russia for those arms from Russia.
Put all these into consideration, Russia leader did not have other choice.
