In a nation promoting rule of law, you don't want to make accusations based on pure assumptions and let the targeted innocent prove being innocent otherwise guilty of all accusations. This is nothing but racism in a different form.
US companies such as Google, Twitter, Microsoft opened doors for the US government when asked. So the assumption is Huawei will do the same. It is like you are a killer because your neighbor is one so you should be arrested.
Many posters believe China wouldn't let foreign companies bid for telecom contracts in China. I never heard about this practice. But I do know Ericsson has a very big market share in the Chinese telecom market. The suspicions should be based on facts not on factors such as race. I can sense a lot of racism propagandized by influential media and politicians in the name of national security. What was Nazi's excuse for its wrongdoing? I couldn't help thinking of this question.
It will be great some informative analysis can tell us why China can pose a security threat to Canada based on facts and real examples, not because Washington said so. Trudeau is calling for independent foreign policy. I couldn't agree more. There is no foreign government will be responsible for the well being of Canadians. Vote for Trudeau!!
If you are worried about Canadian resources too like me, we should demand Ottawa to release a complete status report on the ownership of Canadian resource companies.
