Chinese coach says pair was 'robbed'
LONDON (AP)
The coach of the Chinese track cycling team says Guo Shuang and Gong Jinjie have been ''robbed'' of a gold medal after being disqualified for a rule violation during the women's team sprint final at the London Olympics.
Daniel Morelon, a former Olympic champion in the individual sprint, tells The Associated Press that China can't appeal the decision.
Guo and Gong twice improved on the world record and posted the best time in the final against their German rivals before they were disqualified for an illegal relay.
Germany was awarded the gold medal, and China took silver.
Morelon says he believes not all nations are treated equally at the London Velodrome.
I must also say that the Chinese do cheat on a regular basis. They just don't always get caught, and thats not to say that other don't also. The Chinese are so bent on being number one in everything that they do things that are shady all the way around. I think that all western countrys should start producting there own products again, and stop buying from China. We are creating a Monster .
The rule is the rule, if anyone breaks it then you should be disqualified. This should be done equally, whats good for one is good for another.
Right on, Nom. Those Chinese cheat and still want to win, no room for player error in Olympics. Americans will outdo them in GOLD medals, they MIGHT get silver "crown", but not GOLD one.
Well if they didn't make an illegal move they would be gold medalist. They messed up and that is what happens. If it were a U.S. team they would be called cheaters and even worse. Come on they girls rode their hearts out and lost due to a 'player" error. These things happen. Chinas machine will win many other golds.
Wrong. If it would have been the Americans they probably would have reviewed the race and awarded the Gold to the Americans. The olympic ruling are certainly not fair unless of course you are American.

The Chinese from China have no integrity and true sportsmanship. Even though they have won several gold medals, many of them were chosen trained to be athletes, more like a soldier to me. If anyone looks at the whole country as a whole today in China, the people have lost touch with moral and integrity. We have to stop empowering China, stop borrowing money from them, stop importing from China, and stopping them from manipulating their currency.
