1) Ms. Wen was the head of a jewelry company. So it is not surprising that she can wear something good herself. She might borrow those temporarily.
2) It is reasonable even if the jade ring is hers. Those jade might not worth much in 1970's. If she started collecting in the 1960s as a hobby, she might have a lot. The price of jade only skyrocketed recently.
3) According to the video, she just visited some colleagues in Taiwan. It is reasonable that they showed her some expensive stuff. In addition, it does not say that she bought those two pieces for herself.
Frankly speaking, I think that a jade is nothing but a stone. It is kind of silly to pay a high price for them. Of course, a person can spend his own money in whatever way he/she likes.
