　4月17日，玉樹縣結古鎮天葬台。地震死難者的屍體在這裏集體火化，喇嘛們把死者的遺物以及吉祥草、五穀雜糧等物品扔進火堆中一起焚燒。

　　30歲的達哇是一名中學教師，他70多歲的老母親在地震中遇難，另外還有一個 18歲的侄女死在了玉樹職業技術學校的廢墟中。地震發生後，達哇還曾趕到學校參與救援，無奈侄女最終沒有生還。

　　“我們遲早要走，每個人都要走，隻是方法不同，時間觀念不同而已。”達哇雖然對親人的突然離開感到悲痛，但他盡量讓自己心態平和。地震第二天，他就把死去的親人遺體送到了寺院，他說，他們全家都是佛教徒，都相信來世。

　　達哇的父親在他上初中時去世，葬禮是采用天葬。“這是將我們的身體回饋給自然，頭發指甲都不留下。”達哇覺得這次母親和侄女能夠采用僧人才用的火葬，已經是一種福分。
