2010年2月22日，大年初九，原謠傳將於大年初8，初9強拆008的言論，發生在正陽藝術區，次此事件決不能單單以暴力強拆為結論，完全是黑社會暴力事件和暴力強拆行為。據在場藝術家控訴：黑社會分子近200人，手持50多公分長砍刀，一米多長棍棒，鐵棒, 長匕首等暴力器械，從不同方向衝進正陽藝術區，將藝術家分批以綁架，打傷，搶劫. 搶走所有在場人員手機和所有拍攝工具, 過程實施恐怖暴力，行為另人發指! 隨後率領重型拆遷工具將正陽守夜小屋和一些空間房頂掀掉,一些牆推倒. 真不敢想象，這裏是北京，中國的首都！
日本藝術家岩間賢在暴力事件後失蹤一小時左右,之後被其他藝術家發現了在草叢中蘇醒的他,他已經通知日本大使館和自己的律師,有藝術家看到,他被涉黑分子在守夜小屋內被毆打,之後被拖出小屋在地上繼續被毆打,在其他藝術家喊他是外國人的時候,毆打才逐漸停息。
