Well, history has already answered this question. It depends on which Chairman Mao we are talking about.
If the country is like 1950, I will be back. By then, Chairman Mao has not gone nuts, CCP sounded real good, the country is just out of war and the people were just united again, so much to hope for, so much can be achieved, very inspiring environment.
By 1960, things has gone down hill. Chairman Mao has grown out of himself (and CCP), CCP promised a lot and people got little. Political turmoils started already. I probably would hesidate to go back.
By 1970, Chairman Mao is insane. CCP faked democracy. The People's Repulic of China is just another old dynasty in a new package. Normal people were poor and hopeless. For normal people, there was nothing to hope for and nothing to achieve. I wouldn't want to go back.
