Britain. If you look at American history when america severed ties and declared independence against Britain, France supported America. Napoleon sold louisiana to america. Germany sided with Japan against Britain. Britain is not part of the EU. Fast forward, Macron visited china and wanted european independence from american foreign policy. In short germany france can be in the neutral and china can gain by working with germany and france over Britain and USA. China can send its students to europe with a hostile britain then work with germany and france. China can open its market to germany and france over those who openly support taiwan and sell them weapons like americans do. Basically work with the european union since brtain which britain is not part of. Basically usa is trying to contain china then china can break through the containment and try to isolate america. And Brtain is not even part of the European Union, it shows that America's ideals are not european ones. President Macron even wanted european independence from american policies. In short once europe sees that china can help europe become richer together with china, then america will not be able to contain china and be isolated.
