Her ex-boyfriend, Mohamad Lilo, was charged by Huronia West OPP with criminal harassment nine days after Hajtamiri’s abduction.
The pair had ended their relationship in October, and Bains acknowledged it’s alleged Lilo attempted to see her in November, and York Regional Police became involved.
It was around that time two tracking devices were found on her leased vehicle. On Dec. 21, two men attacked the 37-year-old, one using a frying pan as a weapon, smashing her in the skull.
After the attack, police found a third tracking device on her vehicle.
