unusual to place Mozart on the list of Baroque composers.
I must admit that I do not share the view that Baroque musics are simplistic. Although structurally and harmonically they are less versatile, but the spirituality in the Baroque music is anything but short of its classic and romantic counterparts, and it is most prominently so in Bach, in my opinion. To say that bach is repetitious... well, too bad.
Indeed Baroque music originated in the Italian and French courts (more or less indepenedently) and catered to aristocrats. But the assumption that court aristocrats lack taste and are stupid is highly whimsical which rings more of bourgeois or Bolshevic propoganda. In fact, many aristocrats were well read and very refined. One may tell this from the elegance of Baroque musics.
