The U.S. debut album from all female Chinese act that combine elements of Western & Chinese music. Traditional five-tone Chinese orchestration has been usurped by Western orchestration. They play a mix of Chinese favorites, American jazz standards, & classical compositions. On their sold-out concert dates they're backed up by a band - drums, guitars, keyboards, & a DJ. The band has sold over two million albums since their debut in 2001 & their debut album "Beautiful Energy" topped the Japanese charts for more than ten weeks.

The track "New Classicism" is a modern-day melody of Symphony No. 40 in G Minor by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Symphony No. 5 in C Minor by Ludwig van Beethoven, and the overture to The Barber of Seville by Gioacchino Rossini. "Freedom" is a remake of Santuri Ethem Efendi's ?ehnaz Longa. "Clocks" is an innovative version of the Coldplay song of the same name and "Only Time" a cover of the single by Enya. "Reel Around the Sun" is from the Riverdance dance performance particularly popular in the late 1990s.

數千年文化承襲中國民族音樂至今仍停留於嫺靜、淡雅之風格。然而不經意間，卻因為女子十二樂坊的誕生出現了改觀。舞臺上，十二個年輕靚麗的少女，穿著時尚可體的演出服，把玩著中國古老的民族樂器：古箏、琵琶、二胡、三弦、竹笛、揚琴、還有鮮為人知的獨弦琴、吐良、鋸齒琴等等，彈哼著節奏勝於旋律的「新民樂」。她們揚棄了民樂表演慣常的坐姿，讓青春在全場流光洋溢地流轉......這就是全新的樂團——女子十二樂坊。

「女子十二樂坊」這支獨特的樂隊，是由十二個年輕靚麗的女孩組成，她們分別來自中國音樂學院、中央音樂學院、中央民族大學、解放軍藝術學院等，都是通過招聘，經過嚴格的考核挑選出來的。樂隊的成員出身世家，從小受到良好的音樂薰陶，有著紮實的基本功。畢業於北京各著名藝術院校的她們，均在歷屆器樂比賽中拿過大獎，但是在日本出道成名，甚至日本出品的電玩遊戲也採用了這團體的演奏作品。由於女子十二樂坊的表演形式有別於傳統民樂演奏方式，給予觀眾新鮮感，極盡視聽之娛。經紀人更定位女子十二樂坊的音樂為「視覺音樂」。

女子十二樂坊表現的新民樂把中國傳統音樂與現代流行音樂相結合，創造了一種充滿現代氣息，沒有地域之分，同時又具有東方特色的純音樂。這種全新的音樂及全新的藝術表演形式，向世人展示了自己獨特的舞臺表演及音樂魅力，在流行音樂發展千篇一律，幾乎停滯不前的今天，「女子十二樂坊」的出現以其獨特的亮相，使人耳目一新，成為音樂界的一顆耀眼新星。

2005年女子十二樂坊進軍美國市場併發行首張《Eastern Energy》專輯，中國版的Bond？！「女子十二樂坊」十二名成員以中國民族器演奏不類型的旋律，包括中國傳統民族音樂(劉三姐)、愛爾蘭音樂(Reel Around The Sun)、土耳其音樂(Freedom)、古典音樂(New Classicism莫劄特，貝多芬交響樂大連串等)、流行大熱作品(Coldplay的Clocks)等，而編曲及配樂則以加入大量強勁節拍的流行音樂元素，如拉丁、 Jazz、Rock、Funk、Hip-Hop等等。
