墨西哥鋼琴藝術家埃內斯托•科塔薩爾(Ernesto Cortazar)，1940年出生在墨西哥一個音樂家庭。他的父親是當時墨西哥最有名氣的作曲家。在他13歲那年，他的父母因為車禍去世了。那時，他立誌將來要出人頭地，以慰藉父親的亡靈。和祖母生活在一起的 Ernesto Cortazar 自學鋼琴。

他事業的起點，是在他17歲那年。他給一個叫《La Risa de la Ciudad》電影譜寫了背景音樂和主題曲。片中主題歌曲《River of Dreams 夢之河》在1957年的哥倫比亞卡塔赫納國際電影節上，獲得拉丁美洲電影項的最佳背景音樂獎。從此，奠定了 Ernesto Cortazar 作為電影背景音樂作曲家和演奏家的基礎。

他曾為超過500部影片和25個電視係列作曲配樂，目前為止，他已在25個國家做過巡回表演並在包括克裏姆林宮、墨西哥總統府等重要場所作過專場演出，他還為許多名人，如 Charlton Heston、Danny de Vito Michael Bolton、Octavio Paz、The Rolling Stones President Menem (Argentina)、Nikita Krushev (USSR)作過表演，目前為止，Ernesto Cortazar 總共出了30張個人專輯。

Ernesto Cortazar 的琴鍵有種魔力，淒美的琴音在滿溢的情境夜裏聽來，似乎曲曲都有一個電影般充滿轉折的故事在傾聽時刻，由我們自己導演，幕幕緩慢的……在滿是幻想的腦海演出，這是用情感去敲擊而出的抒情琴聲。
