Have you watched Yo-Yo Ma's relatively recent performance on video? I was OMG!?!?!? The facial expression. He was like flirting with first violin. I had the choice goosebumps or turning off the TV. That was just Vivaldi. Then, once it was Don Quixote. The excessive expression. I thought Lang Lang was the only one.

Do you know du-Pre and Barenboim met at Fou Ts'ong house?

Talking about Barenboim, he recorded Beethoven's complete sonatas on DVD. (Trying to be the first one, just like Schnabel on LP?) Part of it is a 2 disk set, which are master classes to 6 young pianists, including Lang Lang. Quiet interesting. I learnt a lot from those master classes.
