以“傳遞聖火，凝聚世界”為宗旨，有史以來將第一次走遍五大洲的雅典奧運會火炬接力現在擁有了自己的主題曲---《傳遞聖火pass the flame》。

《傳遞聖火》由頂級音樂製作人特雷弗·霍恩（Trevor Horn）與洛爾克萊梅（Lol Crème）合作完成。霍恩曾與許多世界最著名的歌手和樂隊合作， 例如保爾·麥卡特尼、布賴恩·費瑞、寵物店男孩演唱組、噪音藝術樂隊等。希臘作曲家莉娜·尼古拉科普盧（Lina Nicolacopoulou）創作了希臘文歌詞。CD中的英文與希臘文版均由希臘著名歌手伊安尼斯·科特西拉斯（Yiannis Kotsiras）擔任主唱。此外，來自世界各國的許多知名歌手都參加了CD錄製，他們的聲音展示了奧運火炬接力的全球性意義，體現了“傳遞聖火，凝聚世界”的宗旨。

《傳遞聖火》將伴隨著奧林匹克聖火走遍全球。做為一種文化媒介，它將充分體現和傳播奧林匹克火炬接力的價值。
