“Sakura is a cherry blossom tree and zaka means hill. Sakurazaka is a name of the specific place, which is located in a little town in Tokyo, that this story had taken place. The story behind the lyrics is about an unfortunate love story between a Japanese man and a Chinese woman. The two accidentally met in Sakurazaka. They fell in love but the relationship ended sadly because the time had come for her to go back to her own country.
