Mr.Bocelli's voice does not fit certain roles, unfortunately this is one of them. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of his (see my posts before).

This is a highly emotional role, Federico was suffering from the betrayal of his lover. The role supposed to be played by a spinto tenor that means tenor with dramatic effect.

Mario Lanza was superb in the movie "Serenade", even better than Pavarotti:
