1999年底以高亢清亮的嗓音演唱「I Wanna Love You Forever 」一曲震驚樂壇，贏得“天後接班人”稱號的Jessica Simpson，其不僅以首支單曲「I Wanna Love You Forever」登上Billboard熱門百名單曲榜的Top 3，締造破百萬的銷售數字外，首張專輯「Sweet Kisses」更已獲全美雙白金銷售認證，而專輯與單曲並已共創下全球突破400萬張的銷售數字！
此張專輯是Jessica繼“Sweet Kisses”之後，令人期待已久的最新專輯，不僅充份展現了這位擁有強烈生命力的年輕歌手的成長，結合了流行、節奏藍調以及跨界的寬廣音樂風格，更展露出Jessica不斷茁壯成熟的歌唱天賦。除了收錄與專輯同名、華麗的首支單曲「Irresistible」外，還有最具男人魅力的世界巨星Marc Anthony與Jessica深情對唱的「There You Were」，旋律動人的「A Little Bit」以及具暢銷相的「What's It Gonna Be」。Jessica很小時候已經立下誌願要以歌唱表演為終生事業。出生於得州Dalaas的 Jessica，12歲的時候參加了電視節目“Mickey Mouse Club”的試鏡，她優異的才華和表現使得她一路打進決賽，但她卻在最後試鏡時打了退堂鼓，她笑著承認：“對，我逃跑了，不過，那次經驗使我更堅信我所選擇的路是正確的。”第二年， Jessica在參加一個教會所舉辦的營隊時，將一卷清唱《Amazing Grace》這首聖歌的錄音帶，交給一位正準備要成立一個福音歌曲廠牌的客座講師，於是 Jessica就被該唱片公司簽下來了，可是沒想到花了三年時間錄製的第一張福音歌曲大碟卻因為這個唱片公司的經營不善而未能發行。但這次打擊並沒有動搖 Jessica的決心。於是她自己帶著這張大碟裏的歌曲，到各地青年團裏演唱，累計下來 Jessica共計在超過兩萬人次以上的觀眾麵前演唱。在她祖母出錢幫她出版了這張胎死腹中的大碟之後， Jessica和父親一起帶著大碟上路。在父親巡回全美講道的同時， Jessica也會在布疲乏中高歌，每一場布道會結束， Jessica的這張自製大碟就會在會場銷售一空。 Jessica很快就穿越宗教界，打入流行音樂國度。
