The song became an instant huge hit in Europe and then in America, and later on won Cher a Grammy Award. With the commercial success of BELIEVE, Cher became the oldest woman in the rock era to have a Number One hit, and the song is the all-time Biggest-Selling-Single by a solo female artist.
