這是典型的名歌配名畫，堪稱雙絕。Don McLean讀了一本關於Van Gogh生平的書後，於1971年寫下這首作品。三十多年來，很多人是通過Don McLean的一曲催人淚下的Vincent才了解並喜歡上Van Gogh的Starry Night的。可以說，Don McLean的Vincent是對Van Gogh的絕好宣傳，提升了Starry Night的知名度。
