17 Minutes of Truce. Then, The Massacre.

Live from Ukraine

Kherson — The longest truce here lasted 17 minutes. Ever since the Russian dictator’s spokesman presented it as «a humanitarian gesture by Putin», it was clear that the ceasefire agreed upon on the holiest day of the year would be nothing more than a pretext for the Moscow regime to reorganize its troops on the ground, while bombs, drones, and other missiles would cause rivers of blood to flow in Ukraine.

As early as the 4 p.m. dispatch, that is, since the ceasefire took effect, the Ukrainian authorities had recorded 469 ceasefire violations. In the oblast’ I am writing from, Russian strikes had already killed three people and injured 12 others. A Russian drone explosion killed one man on Easter morning in the Korabel district of Kherson, and another was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Shortly thereafter, another FPV attacked a taxi, injuring the driver and two other civilians. Subsequently, another drone targeted a tram, killing the driver. It was not yet noon when yet another Russian kamikaze drone smashed the windows of one of the few remaining open bars in the central district. Later, other drones damaged as many as 16 buildings as far north as Beryslav, particularly in Oleksandrivka, Inzhenernoye, Priozernoye, Zorivka, Zolota Balka, Mylove, Dudchany, and Khreshchenivka.

Around 11:20 a.m., from the opposite bank of the Dnipro, the occupiers again bombed the Korabel neighborhood, wounding a 14-year-old boy, a man, and three women. In Ferorivka, their drone killed an elderly woman. Throughout the day, Russian troops continued to launch intense attacks with guided aerial bombs and drones of all types, not even sparing the medical car of a children’s hospital carrying two nurses. By 5:30 PM on Easter Sunday, the Moscow regime had already claimed 12 lives in Kherson alone.

The rest were caused by mines, which obviously observe no truce. Around 1:30 PM, a public utility worker was blown up after stepping on a petal-shaped explosive device. A 17-year-old boy met the same fate in the Shostka district of Sumy. Three similar devices tore apart two civilians on a bicycle in nearby Khotin, while Russian air raids on Bilopillia demolished the few remaining buildings. During the night, the Russians then targeted an ambulance, wounding three paramedics inside. While Kherson remained silent for more than 17 minutes, in Sumy, there was a Russian attack every half hour, according to the State Emergency Service spokeswoman, who counted more than 90 ceasefire violations. In Kharkiv, a Russian drone exploded on Easter Sunday against a grocery store in Zolokhiv, killing a man and a woman.

In Dnipropetrovsk, by 6:30 PM on April 11, the Russians had violated the ceasefire more than 60 times, overwhelming the communities of Nikopol’, Chervonohryhorivka, Myrivka, Pokrovska, and Marhanets. Fires broke out. Residential and private buildings, a shop, agricultural structures, and trucks were damaged. A woman was injured, and a man is still fighting for his life. In the Kryvyi Rih district, the Russians bombarded Sofiivska, Novopilska, Zelenodolska, and Hrushivska with drones and bombs. At 7:30 AM on Easter morning, they attacked Synelnykove again, setting fire to homes, businesses, and garages. Later, around 3 PM, they launched swarms of FPV drones against Mezhova, killing a man.

Counting the victims of the Russian Easter strikes in Donetsk is almost impossible. In Kramatorsk alone, Moscow’s air force dropped three heavy aerial bombs, damaging seven apartment buildings, an administrative building, and several cars. Other swarms of Russian FPVs swept away the vehicles of fleeing civilians. Other strikes flooded Dobropillia, Sloviansk, Novodonetsk, Druzhkivka, Riznikivka, Myrna Dolyna, and Oleksandrivka, targeting as many as 353 displaced persons, 74 of whom were children.

Overall, Putin’s “humanitarian gesture” consisted of 57 airstrikes, 182 aerial bombs, nearly 4,000 kamikaze drones, and 2,400 additional artillery strikes.

But that’s not all.

According to the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine, on April 11, near the village of Veterinarnoye in the Kharkiv region, Russian soldiers shot four Ukrainian Armed Forces prisoners. Near Huliaypole, they opened fire on an evacuation group, killing the entire crew. It was 5:30 PM on Easter Sunday.

Taking advantage of the declared window of calm, the Russian regime was meanwhile transferring men and equipment from Berdyansk and Mariupol’ to the northern areas of Donetsk Oblast’.
Because the olive branch was the cover. The bombs were the message.

Me reporting with Alla from a small village of the Kherson Oblast’ infested by russian mines and drones. Living here is almost impossibile — copyrighted photo

In 1.508 days of war, we recorded over 250 videos from ground zero and wrote more than 1,500 articles.

We are doing our best to provide genuine, first-hand reports from zones where almost no press dares to go. This means living in a kill zone constantly. We take the risk, but without your invaluable support, our voices would remain unheard and silent. Without brave people sharing our articles from afar, they would remain unread. Our reports would go unseen, and our efforts would be lost. There’s still a lot of work to do here, as the people around us are also in no better situation.

We’re renewing our fundraising campaign and thanking everyone who joins us in helping to restore what Russia is destroying. Moving forward with only a small reimbursement for each article from a brave newspaper that believes in us is extremely challenging. That’s why we are grateful to all the kind people who support us and trust in our mission.

Even a small donation helps.

We’ll keep you updated on developments.

Thank you all, dear friends

Giorgio Provinciali)
