Past is past, you can't bring time back... For the best result, I'd recommend you to hire an atterney to handle your case. I know you'll lose some hard-earned money which is pain, but this the way to guarantee that you'll have a controlled result, rather than one with an open end (jail time, loss of child custody and a record for both of you).

I might be wrong but it could be a few hundred bucks (~$300-500). Consider the money is a lesson fee (hope both of you really learn something).
