Two weeks after moving into our new house, we found mold in our furnished basement. We hired professional mold removal company to do the estimate. They discovered more mold behind the wood panels and under carpet. Water marks are visible under the carpet and it means the basement was flooded before. The estimated cost for complete removal would be more than 10K for tearing off everything (drywalls, carpet, etc), not to mention the cost of refurnishing the basement.
We are very frustrated now. The home inspector we hired before purchasing did not find anything, although there was obvious indication of high humidity in the basement. Our buying agent simply is not helpful at all, nothing was mentioned to check the mold, although she has been in real estate business for more than 20 years. The seller didn't disclose any flooding in the basement.
Whom can I sue for our loss?
Can I sue seller, realtor and home inspector
