1. Which jurisdiction? Is it community property state or common law state?

2. Is the will valid? There are formal requirements of a valid will in each state and a will can be invalidated in so many ways.

3. How is the will written?

4. How is the title held in the house?

5. Did the children have advanced shares?

6. Is the will probated?

There are ways to challenge a will in court but you need the above information and you need to do it within statute of limitation.
