A friend's case

A friend, J, her father remarried after her mum was passed away. J has a sister.

When her father died, he left his house to his wife who was married to him for over 10 years. For his 2 daughters, $20K each.

2 daughters then went to the court. Finally they got 1/2 of the house. 1/4 each.

Of course, this case is different between the one I post before. They went to the court straight away.

My concern is "Timing". Whether it has time limited?
