You should NEVER give your ID to anyone other than POLICEMAN

You really need to ask you ID back in order to avoid him using it improperly, if he's not giving your id back, you really should call for police to demand your ID back.

The laundry thing is another matter. I don't think it's more severe than taking your ID away.
