我覺得沒事, 因為:
1. You have insurance! 你們沒跑, 就不是CRIMINAL　ＣＡＳＥ！　不會影響將來綠卡申請！
２．If your liability limit is not enough, you don't have to pay insurance company if the insurance company paid more than the limit!
3. Youa are students. A little bit savings is nothing in USA standard unless you are very rich.
4. Even you have, say, 20 thousands USD in your bank, you can say it is the tuition for next year of yours or your hu*****and's. The judge will help you in this situation. Belive me. I have been in USA for 12 years.
5. In USA, it's hard for an insurance company to win a case against an individual!
　
But you must keep a good relationship with the owner of the other automobile. The owner is vital important in this case! Call the owner and let him/her know (1) you are students, (2) you lost one child lately. You are in hardship in finance and in stress. Do this right now. Don't let a bad lawer get the owner into something terrible. Say, "I got a headache, my waist hurts" etc.
Again, if you and the owner don't get "mean" to each other, it will be OK!
