know how you filed your application. In my case, I applied for advance parole and work permit the same time as I filed I-485 (Adjustment of Status) about more than 1 year ago. It took me less than 1 month to receive them -- no fingerprinting, no stamps on the passport, no further notices, or anything. In practice, advance parole and EAD combined together are as good as a green card, except that they must be renewed in a year.
Looks like the procedures you're going through are somewhat different. Maybe the law has changed (I've never heard of it). Or you can try my approach and apply for advance parole and work permit again. Hope this is helpful.
