請教老貓，父母的醫療保險問題

我住在加州，正在準備替父母申請綠卡。想詢問一下有關在加州給父母申請Medi-Cal的信息。

父母都已經超過65歲，符合Medi-Cal的年齡要求。Social Security Service告訴我，任何加州的居民，包括非法移民，隻要65歲以上，都可以申請Medi-Cal。如果沒有綠卡，隻能申請Medi-Cal with limited coverage，有了綠卡後再轉成Medi-Cal with full coverage。可是，我想可以申請並不代表肯定拿得到。加州的Medi-Cal 是給低收入人群的。如果我父母來加州後去申請，州政府會不會認為既然我替父母出了探親及綠卡的經濟擔保，我父母就不能算是低收入人群，因此不能享受Medi-Cal？

再進一步，假設我父母拿到了Medi-Cal。將來萬一生病住院，有了大的醫療費用，Medi-Cal又不能全部支付，剩下的費用會不會成為我的債務？如果他們拿到綠卡後，我是不是仍然對他們有經濟上的法律義務？In other words, am I still legally bound by I-864 after they become permanent resident?
