Feel sorry for the mom

If I were the jury member, I would give her the benefit of doubt "forget to pay". There are a couple of times I was so absent minded or distracted by my kids that I carried unpaid items out of store (They were at the bottom of shopping cart, not in the basket). One time I didn't realize it until I got back home. The cashiers in the store were very nice and understanding when I returned to pay. I guess I was very lucky didn't get caught "stealing".
