if you can find where the tenant lives now, you can try to serve the tenant and ask for damages with a breach of contract action. but it might not be worth it.
as a landlord, this is actually not the worst scenario. at least you still have possession of the house and CAN rent it out. some tenants just stop paying rent and forces you to evict them, which will be a bigger pain in the back.
