Lao Mao, please see my case

Lao Mao, I have hired a attorney for my DV case in this week. The charge is M-1 and M-4. The attorney told me that the possible best result is minor misdemeanor (without jail time, court fine, forced-counseling may required). I can go to jury trial, if I lose the case, I will be charged with M-1. The attorney also said the criminal record will be expunged after a period, for example, one year. It looks like it is highly impossible to withdraw the charge and the case be dismissed.

I have three questions. The first one, is it worth for me to insist the jury trial? I can pay additional fee to my attorney if I want to do it. The second one, how bad the effect with minor misdemeanor charge on my immigration and job-changing in the US, even if the criminal record has been expunged? It's very terrible for me.
