Apparently all the apartment purchase contracts in this area are signed by the sellers first then passed on to the buyers. My guess is that on buyers' signing the contract, buyers have to put down the deposit. It is probably easier on the buyers' mind if the sellers have already signed the contract before they fork over that kind of cash. Really though, I don't know why. Clearly I am not a very experienced buyer!

I believe his email message is "yes, will do" to our request to add language. is that a promise or intention? I have no idea. We took it as he would do it.
