關於保險問題

我是在美的F2, 與F1一起買了4個月的保險. 該保險包括生育保險,而且條款中說:"if the covered Person's insurance should expire, the policy will pay under this benefit providing conception occurred while the policy was in force."我的理解是,隻要在保險有效期內懷孕,不管我續不續保險,保險公司都應負責它在保險條款中應付的費用.由於保險太貴還漲價,經濟又拮據,所以在有效期內懷孕後沒有再續.
目前接到一個醫院打來的電話,說保險公司要我續了保險才付已經發生的費用. 但保險公司和醫院又都沒有給正式的通知. 打電話到醫院負責收費的人說不知道,我告訴他們如果保險公司堅持不付請讓他們通知我.

我想知道的是, 保險公司是否有權力拒付? 如果拒付是不是要由保險公司給我個正式通知? 是否我必須要續保險一直到小孩出生? 如果不續會有什麽不利的後果?
