To my understanding, in this article, in NY state, it excludes fare evasion from a criminal offense. Please correct me if I am wrong.

I called the court today, and was told the summons are not even in the systems yet. So I called the police station, and was told that it was not a criminal offense. I was told after you pay it, it will go away. It doesn't leave any criminal record. I will call the court to confirm next week. Thank you very much!
