layoff and osha violation question

Hi Senior Cat and others,

My mom recently got laidoff from the company she worked for 13 years. She was a whistleblower at the company and was terminated for that reason.

Her supervisor(also a 60th asian female) constantly abused her verbally and physically (making her lift heavy stuff, forcing her to be exposed to hazardous materials such as acids without protection(an OSHA violation) etc. my mom is 57 and she a skilled technician). She reported the incidents many times to higher management and nothing was done.

What is the recourse she has under the Texas and Federal labor law? Should she consult a legal representive for a lawsuit? We have certified mails that she sent to the higher management and she has doctor's notes on abuses by the company.

Sorry that no Chinese input on this computer. Thank you very much for your help.
