She definitely needs a lawyer. It may not be a bad thing not speaking English well. She could pretend to be naive at court. It's good not to show she is smart at court. She can ask court to hire a interpreter for her in case of trial. She can have enough time to think about the questions she is asked before answering them. It's better to be trained on how to answer the questions the DA may ask. Be careful not to be trapped by the DA. Honesty is good but if it can cause disaster to you, you may want to avoid it.
