single cat or any one:please help

I help my friend ask question here:
My friend's hu*****and is an American who works for city (general labor). My friend who is a Chinese, but she is a permanent resident, stay home mom now, used to be a childcare teacher. They have a 3-year-old child, rent apartment, 2 used cars. They argue too much for everything so bad, cannot agree with each other. Both of them tired of the argument, they want to divorce. My friend want have the child. What option does she have?
