Similar happened to me. One of the doctors is out of network. I talked to his office. The office talked to my insurance. It is finally resolved, i.e., I paid as in-network cost. Not sure who gave in, insurance company or the doctor's office. It did take forever to get it done though. When you receive the bill, you need to call doctor's office to let them know it is in the process of dispute. So they won't send it over to collection agency.
