When will my name be removed from the title of the car

Last year I sold my 88 accord to an individule who junk the car after two weeks. I received a letter from the wrecher service saying they picked up the car somewhere.

I write to the wrecker company and tell them the situation, making it clear that I don't own the car anymore.

This year, I received a renew notice for the registration on the same car. It is still under my name since the person who bought it never transfer the tile (I sign the tile over to him when he paid me the money last year.)

I called both the county and the state, they all say there is nothing they can do to remove the car from my name. I called the wrecker service, they said only the person who bought the car make that happens by transfering the title to his name.

Obviously, that won't happen since he junk the car. He would have to pay back registration, towing fee, storage fees etc. Of course, he won't do it.

The county told me, I can simply don't pay for the registration from now on.

My question: When will my name be removed from the title??
