I am not familiar with Chapter 14. May be just your state statute regarding discovery.

In most states, child support matter is not carved in the stone. The parties can change it anytime before the child reaches majority. This is only a request for production not a notice. Even if it is a notice, the attorney can serve by himself. Not a problem. I suggest that if you do not have any significant burden to produce, just comply. If you refuse you know they will go to the court to ask for a subpoena and you may be responsible for the cost. If you do have tremendous burden to find these records, just honestly tell the attorney and try to find a middle ground.
