紅燈右轉被拍照

在加州。本來想趕在黃燈右轉，不料在靠進人行道時燈變紅了。沒有完全停下來就完成了右轉。現在還不知道要罰多少？要記點嗎？

開車８年，從沒有吃過罰單。這此就自認倒黴。可心裏還是有些不服。因為這必竟不是直闖紅燈，不是故意闖紅燈，而且也是安全的（車不多，接下來就是垂直方向的車輛左轉，不會到我這個角來）。

我要不要上法庭去辨護呢？怎樣才能減輕懲罰？多謝指教。
