I'm having the similar experience, It's bad luck to be hit by uninsured car, try talk to him and get as much money as possible, little is better than nothing. You can warm him that if he doesn't pay, then you will sue him at small claim court. Last, It's not worth it to have a lawyer, plus no lawyer will take your case, it's too little money.
