h1b, plan to travel to Mexico on business, ask for Mexico Visa p

I am now working on H1b for a US company based in Minnesota. would like to travel to Mexico for company business. Do I have to make an appointment before interview in Mexico Consolate in Chicago? How long will it take to process the visa?
