What Lao Mao said is absolutely true, but you can go hire a BK attorney and complete the credit counseling in his office, once finished (normally by the phone and online), the credit counseling service will issue you a certificate of completion via fax or email, you can then directly proceed to petition for bankruptcy. Is you debt secured or non-secured? Have your creditors placed any lien on your (or your hu*****and’s) personal assets, like the house or the car?
