請教stp版主稅問題。

我往年都是用paper form 報稅，今年試用free software TurboTax電子報稅(federal tax). 但是試用這個後有一個問題不明白。2006年我總共才交了大概500元federal tax，但這個軟件說我共交了大概2000元稅。我的州稅是交了大概1500元。這個軟件說我共交了大概2000元稅是因為它有一項sale tax deduction and it said that if my state or local tax deduction is bigger than the sale tax deduction, it suggested me to take the state and local tax deduction which is the state
tax I paid. 然後根據這個，軟件說我的federal refund 大概是1500。請問 stp 這個軟件對嗎？ 如果是這樣的話，那不成了聯邦政府幫我交州稅了？而且我還從聯邦政府多拿錢(超過了我付的federal tax) 回來(不是EIC)？我往年通常都是把我付的federal tax 退回來，但從來不會多個那個。還是我自己以前都算錯了？如果這個軟件不對，那麽我隻好還用paper form了。

By the way, I had called the software support, and still got the same thing (same refund) and confused.
